Carlo L. Batts, Principal of Rittenhouse Appraisals, proudly leads the firm with a hands-on approach to service, providing a thorough analysis of real estate assets or projects for each client.
With a degree in urban planning and real estate urban land development from Virginia Commonwealth University, Carlo has over twenty years of real estate experience, fifteen of which have been dedicated to appraisals in the commercial real estate industry. His foundation for appraising began while working with Wilmington Trust Company (now M&T Bank), which was the largest lender in the Philadelphia Federal Reserve until being acquired by M&T Bank of New York.
Carlo is a designated member of the Appraisal Institute and is actively engaged with the local chapter, currently serving as the Chapter’s President. He is on the Boards of the Philadelphia Chapter of the African American Real Estate Professionals and Lambda Alpha International (LAI) Philadelphia, and is a member of Building Industry Association of Philadelphia and CREW Greater Philadelphia. Carlo currently serves on the Special Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for The Appraisal Foundation, and also sits on the Philadelphia Home Appraisal Bias Task Force.
Recent speaking engagements have been with the Union League Real Estate Club, Philadelphia Multifamily Summit, LAI Philly, and Bucks County Realtors Association. He was also recently appointed to the Housing, Planning, and Development Transition Sub-Committee of Philadelphia. Carlo is also on Built by Philly, a platform for BIPOC entrepreneurs, and has been a featured source for Yahoo! Finance.
